Facebook hits 901 million users

Today Facebook announced that it reached 901 million users on the social network. If they continue with the current growth, the social network will pass the one billion users before ending the year 2012, perhaps in August. The world has little more than 7 billion people alive right now, which means that one seventh of the world population is registered in the largest social network in the world, the Facebook.

• 3.2 billion comments per day;
• 300 million shared photos per day;
• 126 billion friendships;
• 526 million active users daily;
• 488 million users use Facebook on a mobile device;
