 Fiz o upgrade da minha ligação de acesso à internet, de ADSL para uma ligação de fibra ótica com uma largura de banda de 1 Gigabit por segundo, 1000 megabits de download e 1000 megabits de upload. E vou fazer teste de velocidade para ver qual o valor máximo de download e upload que consigo atingir. Mas a velocidade máxima através de fibra ótica é limitada pelo fornecedor de serviço de internet (ISP) porque a capacidade da fibra ótica teoricamente não tem limite, porque a informação é enviada através de um laser de luz pela fibra, e estas limitações estão dependentes da qualidade e capacidade do hardware, seja o router, o switch, o transceiver, ou no hardware final do cliente, a placa de rede ou o armazenamento.

I upgraded my internet connection from ADSL to a fiber optic connection with a bandwidth of 1 Gigabit per second, 1000 megabits download and 1000 megabits upload. And I'm going to run a speed test to see what the maximum download and upload value I can achieve. But the maximum speed over optical fiber is limited by the internet service provider (ISP) because the capacity of optical fiber is theoretically unlimited, because the information is sent through a laser light over the fiber, and these limitations are dependent on the quality and capacity of the hardware, be it the router, the switch, the transceiver, or in the customer's final hardware, the network card or the storage.
