Virtual reality is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. Applications of virtual reality include entertainment, games, education, medical, military, virtual meetings, and for business. Other types of virtual reality technology include augmented reality and mixed reality, sometimes referred to as extended reality.

Interaction design is the practice of designing interactive digital products, environments, systems, and services. Beyond the digital aspect, interaction design is also useful when creating physical (non-digital) products, exploring how a user will interact with it.

Walking vertically in Virtual Reality using physical platforms 🥽🪑

Walking vertically in Virtual Reality using physical platforms 🥽🪑

In this project I demonstrate the potential of using physical platforms (tangible objects) in a virtual reality environment, to give the user a more interesting and immersive interaction experience in virtual reality, the user (player) needs to physically move in space, having a haptic and more immersive experience. This allows the user to access and interact with the virtual environment using physical objects in the real space.

Organizing the IEC-C13 power cables

I’m in cleaning and organization mode, to have an organized workspace. Normally every IT device comes with a IEC-C13 standard power cable, so these cables tend to accumulate. Because there are different lengths, colors and angle terminations, I like to have everything tidy and organized, to easily find what I need, when I need it.

Managed vs. Unmanaged Switches

Unmanaged switches serve only one purpose: to provide Ethernet devices with network connections so they can communicate with one another. Some consider an unmanaged switch to be “the man in the middle.” It serves its purpose well and adds additional ports to your network but it doesn’t offer intelligence and isn’t a visible network device.

Managed switches provide the same functionality as unmanaged switches—connecting Ethernet devices for communication purposes—but they offer additional features that unmanaged switches cannot. They could even be considered “smart switches” due to the levels of intelligence they bring to the network.

What is a network address?

A network address is an identifier for a node or host on a telecommunications network. Network addresses are designed to be unique identifiers across the network, although some networks allow for local, private addresses, or locally administered addresses that may not be unique.

What is the IPv4 and IPv6?

The Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) is a protocol for use on packet-switched Link Layer networks (e.g. Ethernet). IPv4 provides an addressing capability of approximately 4.3 billion addresses. The Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is more advanced and has better features compared to IPv4.

What is a subnet?

A subnet mask is like an IP address, but for only internal usage within a network. Routers use subnet masks to route data packets to the right place. Subnet masks are not indicated within data packets traversing the Internet — those packets only indicate the destination IP address, which a router will match with a subnet.

What is network prefix?

A network prefix is an aggregation of IP addresses. Currently, the Internet runs two protocol versions of IP: version 4 and 6. ... The bitmask or prefix length defines the size of the aggregation. It effectively defines the amount of bits that determine the aggregation itself. For example, 192.50.

What is network range?

Each of the normal classes also have a range within them that is used to designate private network addresses. For instance, for class A addresses, the addresses from 10.0. 0.0 to 10.255. 255.255 are reserved for private network assignment. For class B, this range is 172.16.
