Destruição da Tempestade Leslie no Distrito de Coimbra

A tempestade Leslie passou pelo Distrito de Coimbra, tendo provocado maior destruição entre o conselho de Montemor-o-velho e a cidade da Figueira da Foz (na costa do Oceano Atlântico). Os estragos foram imensos: Postes de electricidade arrancados, árvores centenárias partidas, telhados removidos, muros deitados a baixo, outdoors de publicidade dobrados, vidros partidos e janelas danificadas, antenas arrancadas, carros danificados devido ás coisas levadas pelo vento, e inundações. Os estragos são variados e por todo o lado, estima-se que só na Figueira da Foz os prejuízos são superiores a 32 milhões de euros, podendo ascender aos 100 milhões de euros entre Montemor-o-Velho e Figueira da Foz, onde mais de 100 mil habitações chegaram a estar até 5 dias sem electricidade ou telecomunicações móveis ou fixas.

Postes de eletricidade e cabos caídos na estrada
A força do vento provocado pela tempestade Leslie partiu troncos de árvores e deitou abaixo postes de cabos de eletricidade e telecomunicações que caíram para a estrada, deixando os cabos atravessados na via, alguns postes tiveram que ser cortados por terem ficado na estrada a impedir a passagem dos veículos e assim também evitar que os cabos que estavam a ser suportados fossem cortados até aos postes voltarem a ser levantados.

Outdoors de publicidade com vigas de ferro dobradas
A força do vento provocado pela tempestade Leslie foi de tal força que dobrou vigas de ferro que seguravam outdoors de publicidade, algumas ficando mesmo a 90 graus, tendo as telas de publicidade desaparecido, ficando apenas alguma da estrutura metálica que as suportava.

Escola primária destruída
Escola onde o muro ficou partido, tijolos arrancados, gradeamento caído, vidros partidos, persianas arrancadas, telhas arrancadas, coberturas levadas pelo vento que foram encontradas a dezenas de metros do local.

Telhado moderno vs telhado antigo
A Tempestade Leslie provocou danos em muitos telhados, destruindo quase por completo os telhados de casas mais antigos, ao contrário de telhados modernos que conseguiram resistir às forças devastadoras da tempestade. Os telhados modernos construídos com técnicas e materiais mais preparados para resistir às forças da natureza não sofreram quaisquer danos, mas na casa do lado onde o telhado é antigo, ficou completamente destruído.

Árvores partidas e arrancadas pelas raízes
A Tempestade Leslie teve grande impacto nas árvores, muitas dessas árvores tiveram o tronco rachado pelas enormes forças do vento, algumas árvores centenárias com troncos de um 1 metro de diâmetro foram mesmo deitadas abaixo tendo sido arrancadas as raízes do solo, em muitos casos os ramos partidos ficaram pendurados nos cabos de electricidade, ou mesmo deixando abaixo os postes e cabos de electricidade e telecomunicações.

Postes com sinalização rodoviária dobrados e arrancados
A sinalização rodoviária (stop, passadeira, rotunda, cedência de passagem, localidades) assentes em postes de ferro, foram dobrados até partirem o ficarem dobrados com um ângulo de 90 graus, por tal sido a força do vento a bater nas placas de sinalização. Em alguns locais o poste inteiro juntamente com o bloco de cimento foi arrancado do chão devido ao nível de resistência do ferro do poste, que de uma forma ou de outra, a força do vento da tempestade, foi sempre mais forte.

Obras de requalificação da Rotunda do Pescador e Av. Marginal da praia da Figueira da Foz e Buarcos

Iniciaram as obras de requalificação da Avenida Marginal da Figueira da Foz e Buarcos junto da praia. As obras são ao longo de 500 metros, desde o Largo de Buarcos, Largo Caras Direitas, Rotunda do monumento ao Pescador, Av. Dr. Mário Soares, Av. Brasil. Toda a zona verde da relva foi retirada e o percurso da estrada foi alterado. A empresa a cargo das obras começou a "destruir" o Jardim Parque Dr. Fernando Traqueia, que é o jardim da entrada de Buracos, situado junto da praia, mas quando começaram a cortar as árvores centenárias desse jardim, a população juntou-se e parar que isso acontece-se, e foram realizados protestos contra a câmara municipal a fim de que as árvores não fossem cortadas.
