Princes of the royal family of Brazil visit the historical sites of the University of Coimbra

The university of Coimbra. Is a public university located in the city of Coimbra, in Portugal. It is one of the oldest universities in the world still in operation, being the oldest and one of the largest in the country. Composed of 3 campuses, 8 faculties and 18 museums, and has 25188 students.

The university of Coimbra received the visit of the Princes of the imperial family of Brazil, royal highness Antônio João Maria José Jorge Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Orleáns and Bragança, head of the imperial brazilian house, prince of Brazil, and her royal highness Cristina Maria Isabel de Ligne and Orléans and Bragança, princess of Brazil and princess of Ligne. During their visit they had the opportunity to get to know the historic part of the university of Coimbra: the scientific council room of the faculty of law, the chapel of saint Michael, the courtyard of university, the oldest baroque library in the world, the academic prison, the chapels room where doctorates are awarded by the recto, all the all spaces accessible to tourists, but also several private spaces.
